"You have been the last dream of my soul." Charles Dickens.

A Tale of Two Cities has one of the most significant chapter openings in the history of literature.

"It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was epoch of believe, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of light, it was the season of darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair." Charles Dickens.

This wonderful book has a durable bound hard cover, which is embossed with iridescent highlighting, gold foil on the spine, reinforced cloth quarter binding and acid-free archival quality paper.

The pages are cream white and the font, type size and spaces are carefully selected for comfortable reading.

There are 432 pages with a satin ribbon bookmark and superb illustrations by Hablot Knight Browne. The book measures 24 cm x 17 cm.

The final illustration on the last page is by Frederick Barnard, and the remainder by Hablot Knight Browne in 1859 for the monthly series of A Tale of Two Cities.
